If you are an alcoholic who has been drinking heavily for a long period of time, you should seek your doctor's suggestion before quitting in order to help you during withdrawal and detox. The pain and discomfort others experience is negligible. Lots of alcoholics have tried to quit once or twice in their lives. But the physical cravings can last for years. In these meetings, you will be given vital information on quitting.

If you have reached this point then that is something to be very proud of. Just continue to be strong and fight the cravings and live a life without alcohol in your body.
