Low Carb Diets You Can Stomach

Many people think that low carb diets are a huge hassle. These diets also don't seem to be reasonable. Many of us can remember being taught that carbohydrates are good. After all, carbs are the base of the food pyramid. Some carbohydrates are actually good for us. Some carbohydrates are bad for us, of course. This is true of cholesterol, too. Eating a low carb diet and eating a well balanced diet are pretty much the same thing. If you follow the rules of nutrition you can eat a low carb diet really easily. The following low carb diet tips should be helpful.

Eggs are a great option for people on a low carb diet. Many people associate breakfast with carb heavy foods and fatty foods. Bacon is an example of something that many people don't want to give up. But a plate of eggs and a glass of fruit juice make an excellent breakfast. Eggs are a great substitute for high carb foods provided you don't prepare them with high carb cheese or other additives. Simply adding fresh veggies can give you a great omelet.

Many assume getting to eat all the meat they want is the best part of a low carb diet. You do get to eat a lot of meat, however, you need to be picky about the cuts of meat that you eat. Meat, even if it doesn't have carbs, does have fat and other elements that aren't healthy. Lean meats are your best choice when making your meals. Be sure to get lean cuts of the beef, chicken, and fish already mentioned. When you limit the fat in your meat dishes, you will feel even better.

It is also quite good for you. Another reason to use it instead of rice is that it cooks more quickly. Cooking rice dishes this way allows you to prepare them in a fraction of the time. Cauliflower is not only better for you than rice but it is an easy substitution. You can use grated cauliflower in most recipes that call for rice. You can use cauliflower in place of rice in about 95% of recipes.

There are several ways to make cutting down on carbs easier. It doesn't need to mean simply eliminating foods.

This is really about finding ways to substitute low carb foods for the high carb ones you're used to. As you research low carb diets, you may be surprised at how easy they really are to follow. You will find that you are simply eating a well balanced diet.
