Is Microdermabrasion An Effective Skin Care Treatment

By John Adams

I would like to start off by giving you a little insight on what microdermabrasion is. This is a very effective anti-aging technology. It is typically performed by using a machine that exfoliates your skin by scrubbing an abrasive of some sort to remove dead skin cells. This allows for a newer and brighter layer of skin to grow.

Are you interested in diminishing the look of age spots? If so, this is probably a good option for you. In fact, over the past decade doctors have come to the conclusion that microdermabrasion is more effective than any other technique you will find.

Are you interested in trying it yet? If not, I understand. I would not want you to make a decision without knowing what is in it for you. So, allow me to talk a bit about the pros and cons of using microdermabrasion.

First off, microdermabrasion can provide you with amazing results given you are having it performed by a skilled doctor. Also, there are some home microdermabrasion kits. In general, these home kits can provide you with great results as well as long as you follow the directions exactly as written.

What about the recovery time? Will you have to miss work? No. There is pretty much no recovery time involved at all actually. Go to work, get microdermabrasion done at lunch, and feel free to go back to work. In fact, after looking in the mirror, I bet you will be ecstatic to get yourself back in front of people and show off your new beautiful look.

I do want you to refrain from spending too much time in direct sunlight immediately after your first session though. This is due to the fact that this technique removes the tougher outer layer of skin. That leaves the new vulnerable skin visible and prone to sun burn.

Typically, if you go into a spa to get this done, you will pay upwards of a hundred dollars per visit. Most people will need 5 or 6 treatments done within about 15 days for best results. However, the good news is that there are those home kits that are just as effective that you can get at any local pharmacy for less than 50 dollars to help you save quite a bit.
