Heaven is for Real or God Is Not Dead were not the first movies to tackle the issues of NDEs. For example, the film Flatliners, the original and the recent remake also does so. Although, unlike the many who have experienced the phenomenon due to an emergency or medical condition, these individuals forced one another into death with the hope of a reawakening. In most cases, all the students participated though there were a few whom protested the project.
Unlike in the movie, real researchers have now proved the commonalities among NDE survivors. At first, researchers as others were skeptical at best. Then, when researchers started hearing and reading about the similarities in real life scenarios, the reality became more probable.
Some of the most common themes included having no boundaries or recognition of time and space, and seeing a light at the end of what seemed to be an endless dark tunnel. For example, those whom believe in angels often reported being escorted through the tunnel by these figures. Whereas, others report friends or relatives coming towards then fading away once the individual had reawakened.
As for personal experiences, as with all things, people may very well make things up, especially online. It pays to be cautious and take these tales with a grain of salt. For, while there are a number of real incidents, there are also many which have been taken from others or made up in an attempt to garner attention. Whether true or otherwise, there are a number of NDE stories which can provide an individual with a renewed sense of healing, hope, faith and love.
