Simple Guide To Avoid Extreme Cluttering

By Jessica Fox

Living in a messy house or office can have a negative impact in your life. Many individuals suffer from different psychological disorders because of extreme cluttering. Clutter does not only affect how living spaces look, it affects health. Untidy places cause stress and anxiety in a person's life. You are unable to focus on your main goal because clutter interferes with your thinking. Finding something in a pile of papers or clothes is overwhelming.

It is your responsibility to ensure spaces are clean and neat. The process of removing clutter is not difficult if you follow these simple steps. First and foremost go through your entire home, decide what is useful and throw away what you consider unwanted in a sorting basket. Items such as old magazines, toys, clothes, and shoes should go in the sorting basket.

Drawers and wardrobes are filled with unwanted stuff. Take time to check your drawers and closet. Take out clothes that are too small or make you look bad. Some clothes become small before they are worn out. Such clothes should be placed in a sorting basket. Pick all the unwanted papers lying on the floor. You can to throw them away or recycle.

Clutter piles up quickly in areas that do not receive much attention. Some areas like bedrooms are always messy, especially, under the beds. Check under beds, remove everything you consider clutter and place it in a sorting bin. Clean the space and arrange what is left in the right place.

Once you are done with cleaning, invest some time in sorting items that are in the basket. You will require a large room filled with light. Sort one item at a time and decide why you need it. If you feel the task is too stressful to handle it on your own, call your best friend to help you out. Someone close to you will give honest opinion why you should keep or get rid of an item.

It is normal to have items you love and are willing to keep. Think about items you love and place them aside. The next aspect you should consider is how many times the item is utilized. Some items remind you of special people or events. Decide if they stand a chance to remain in the house based on your emotions.

Place items in three different groups to ease the whole sorting exercise. Items such as pens, notebooks and keys go in the first category. These items are utilized every day, it is wise to place them in a bowl or small box. Use a toolbox or shoe box to store tools and shoe accessories.

Your second bunch should entail items you use at least once a week or once a month. If you rarely use an item, it is evident that you will not use it in the near future. Inspect unused items to determine if they are in good conditions. Throw away damaged items. Items that are in good conditions but not wanted should be given to charity organizations.
